ExLab/DVA Bursary Research Project 2012

About

I am delighted to have been awarded an ExLab/DVA bursary to extend and challenge my practice.

I intend to start by researching lichens on Portland – out and about on the island using hand lenses and macro photography to magnify their scale, structure , texture and colour.

Combined with distribution data from the Dorset Enviironmental Records Centre (DERC) I will explore

1)relationships, boundaries, and margins – between individuals of the same species, and between individuals of different species

2)movement/flow into form – even in these ‘stationary’ life forms

Hoping I can illuminate the obscure and overlooked…
